- The Czech festival year runs from winter carnival and dance festivals to big summer music weekends and autumn light shows.
- Prague is the centre for dance: Bachata Czech Republic Festival in February, more bachata congresses in spring and autumn, salsa festivals in summer.
- Summer is music festival season, with big open-air weekends in Ostrava, Hradec Králové and beyond.
- Many festivals publish exact 2027 dates late. Months below are the usual ones; check each organiser.
The Czech Republic has a festival for every taste: open-air music weekends that draw tens of thousands, one of Europe's oldest classical music festivals, a world famous film festival in a spa town, and a dance scene that has grown fast in Prague. This guide goes through the festivals in the Czech Republic in 2027 month by month, with a closer look at the dance festivals, which is what we know best: we organise Bachata Czech Republic Festival in Prague.
Many organisers announce exact dates only a few months ahead. Where 2027 dates are published we give them, otherwise we give the usual month. Always check the official site before you book.

Why Prague is a good base for festival travel
- Central location: direct trains to Berlin, Vienna, Munich, Bratislava and Budapest, and flights from most European cities.
- Good value: food, transport and hotels cost less than in most Western European capitals.
- Easy transport: metro, trams and buses run often, and a single app covers tickets. See our travel guide.
- English is widely spoken at festivals, hotels and restaurants.
Planning a dance festival trip to Czechia
- Pick the festival and buy your pass early, because prices rise in phases. Festival passes explained.
- Book a room at or near the venue. For BCR, rooms are in the venue itself: accommodation.
- Book flights or trains, and plan an extra day for the city.
- Pack for the season and for dancing: what to wear for bachata dancing.
